Unsung at Wilton's Music Hall

11/18/2013 - 19:30 - 21:30

Unsung, a new play by Ayndrilla Singharay, returns for one performance at Wilton's Music Hall on Monday 18th November.

Following a hugely successful run at the Rosemary Branch Theatre in September, Unsung will be performed at Wilton's, a historic and recently restored Victorian Music Hall, as part of the Season of Bangla Drama Festival.

Unsung is a modern re-imagining of 'Punishment', a short story by Bengali Nobel Prize-winning writer Rabindranath Tagore. It explores how damaging our expectations of one another can be and suggests that Tagore's observations about the treatment of women one hundred years ago in India remains just as important and relevant in 21st century London.

"Profound, well executed, and powerful." Camden New Journal

"A century has passed but Tagore’ s themes are still topical...
an impressive debut from this new writer."
British Theatre Guide

"A haunting, engrossing story about love, family and loneliness.
I highly recommend it"
